Location: Mihail Kogălniceanu Street, no. 12
The administrative building was built at the end of the 19th century and was the headquarters of the former Chamber of Commerce accommodating over time several institutions including: between 1921- 1926, the Elementary Commercial School, Commercial Division in the 50s and the County Library “Duiliu Zamfirescu” by 2014. Currently the building was retroceded to the Chamber of Commerce.
Structurally the building is executed out in the architectural pattern of the era, the style being influenced by the Western constructions of the time – neoclassical.
“The building is part of the type of dwellings on one level with a rectangular plan. Access is made through a door mounted on the axis of the main facade. The central hall is decorated with stylobates with composite capital. The main body highlights a neatly protruded entry higher than the lateral sides, surmounted by a gable bearing a skylight. It is framed by two leaned columns with composite capital supporting the semi-circular arch with highly raised section. The facades are punctuated by windows framed by columns with composite capital and socle at the level of the parapet with concrete pilasters.” (National Cultural Heritage built in Vrancea County – Museum of Vrancea).
